Traffic and Transport Advisories

Brisbane City Council has issued several notices regarding changed traffic conditions for Sunday, 15 February 2026. Residents and visitors should plan their journeys in advance to avoid significant delays in the CBD and Petrie Terrace areas.

A full road closure will be in effect on Ann Street, specifically between Edward Street and Creek Street, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. This closure is to facilitate the Fall of Singapore Remembrance Day Event. Police and traffic controllers will be on-site to assist with diversions, which will be clearly signed. All motorists, including bus services and pedestrians, are advised to follow detours during this one-hour window.

Additionally, the Lang Park Traffic Area is currently activated due to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo International 2026 held at Suncorp Stadium. Traffic and parking changes will remain in place through Sunday evening. Motorists are reminded that parking restrictions are strictly enforced in the local Lang Park area, and on-the-spot fines may be issued to vehicles parked illegally. Major road closures in Milton, including sections of Milton Road, may occur for up to an hour following the conclusion of the event to ensure the safe dispersal of crowds.

Public transport users are advised of major weekend track closures impacting the Shorncliffe, Beenleigh, and Gold Coast lines. Timetabled railbuses will replace trains in both directions. Passengers should allow for additional travel time and check the latest schedules before departing. Cyclists are also reminded that the temporary shared user path between George Street and Roma Street is closed for construction; detours are in place via George Street.

Weather and Public Health Alerts

The Bureau of Meteorology has maintained a forecast for heavy rainfall across the Brisbane region. This weather pattern may result in flash flooding in low-lying areas and creek catchments. Residents are urged to monitor local conditions and avoid driving through floodwaters.

Queensland Health has issued a measles alert for North Brisbane. Residents who have visited public locations in the northern suburbs are encouraged to monitor for symptoms, including fever, cough, and a blotchy rash. Those who are unsure of their vaccination status should consult a medical professional. Furthermore, park visitors should be aware that planned aerial mosquito treatments have recently been conducted across foreshore and swamp areas to manage local populations.

Community Facilities and Park Maintenance

Several local facilities and parks have active notices regarding maintenance and upgrades:

  • Ashgrove Library: The facility remains closed for air conditioning system upgrades. This closure is expected to last until mid-March 2026.
  • Perrin Park, Toowong: The work area is currently closed to facilitate the installation of a new scooter track and park embellishments.
  • Sunset Park, Ashgrove: Access to the electrical compound area is restricted due to ongoing construction works scheduled through March.
  • Fletcher Parade Park, Bardon: The basketball court is currently closed for refurbishment and the installation of new equipment.
  • Melrose Park, Kalinga: The cricket nets are unavailable while upgrades to the fencing and turf are completed.
