Traffic and Parking: Bowen Hills National 4x4 and Outdoors Show

Residents and commuters are advised of significant changes to traffic and parking conditions in Bowen Hills commencing at 5:30 am on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. These modifications are required to accommodate the National 4x4 and Outdoors Show and will remain in effect until 4:00 pm on Monday, 16 March. Motorists should anticipate delays and look for temporary signage indicating altered access to local streets. Parking in the vicinity will be highly restricted; public transport is recommended for those attending the event or traveling through the area.

Roadworks and Motorway Alerts

Several major roadwork projects will impact travel across the metropolitan area this Tuesday. A planned ramp closure is scheduled for the Gateway Motorway northbound off-ramp from Moreton Drive. This closure will be in effect from 8:00 pm on Tuesday, 10 March, through to 5:00 am on Wednesday, 11 March. Additionally, ongoing maintenance on the Logan Motorway will see eastbound lanes closed between Formation Street and Boundary Road during the same overnight window.

In suburban areas, work on Mortimer Road in Acacia Ridge is expected to reach a completion milestone on 10 March. Motorists in Alderley should continue to exercise caution on South Pine Road and Enoggera Road as projects there continue through mid-week. Construction activity remains high on Sandgate Road in Albion and Tay Street in Ashgrove, where temporary lane narrowings and speed reductions are in place.

Community Planning: More Homes, Sooner Consultation

Brisbane City Council invites residents to participate in community consultation sessions regarding the "More Homes, Sooner" citywide amendment. This proposal focuses on low-medium density residential design and smaller lot housing to support housing diversity. On Tuesday, 10 March, two sessions will be held at Council facilities from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. These sessions provide an opportunity for the public to review proposed changes to the Brisbane City Plan 2014 and provide formal feedback before the consultation period concludes on 20 March.

Weather Advisory: Severe Rainfall and Flood Watch

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Flood Watch for much of southeast Queensland, including the Brisbane region. Widespread rain with the potential for heavy falls is forecast to continue through Tuesday. Residents are urged to monitor local conditions as minor to moderate flooding is possible in low-lying areas and creek catchments. Authorities remind all drivers to "if it’s flooded, forget it" and to check official traffic dashboards for real-time updates on road closures before commencing travel.

Public Health: Free Flu Vaccinations and Health Alerts

Queensland Health continues the 2026 Free Flu Vaccination Program, which is now active for all residents aged six months and older. Vaccines can be accessed through participating general practices and pharmacies. Additionally, health authorities maintain a measles alert for the region. Residents are encouraged to ensure their immunizations are up to date and to seek medical advice if they develop symptoms such as fever or a blotchy rash, particularly if they have recently visited major transport hubs.
