Official Infrastructure and Traffic Advisories

Brisbane City Council has issued several notices regarding changed traffic conditions and infrastructure projects taking effect or continuing on Monday, 9 March 2026. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

  • South Brisbane: Major long-term works commence today on Merivale Street. Motorists should expect altered traffic flow and potential delays. These works are scheduled to continue through February 2027.
  • Stafford: Significant construction remains active on Webster Road. These works, which began in early February, are expected to continue until April 2026.
  • St Lucia: Changed conditions continue on Hawken Drive. Residents should remain alert to signage as these works approach their scheduled completion later this week.
  • Tingalpa: Excavation work is currently underway on Wynnum Road. This project is part of a broader infrastructure upgrade and is anticipated to last until May.
  • Toowong: New construction activities have commenced on Burns Road. Temporary lane closures and noise may impact local residents during standard work hours.

Public Notices and Planning Consultations

Several opportunities for community feedback on local development and heritage protection are currently open. The Council encourages residents to review these proposals and submit comments by the specified deadlines.

  • Bracken Ridge Development: A public submission period is open until 23 March 2026 regarding a proposed subdivision at 133 Denham Street. Residents can view the reconfiguration plans (Ref: A006918797) and lodge feedback via the Development Assessment manager.
  • Coorparoo Heritage Protection: The Queensland Heritage Register is considering an application for the Coorparoo Bowls Club to be recognized as a State Heritage Place. The public consultation period remains open until 27 March 2026.
  • Koala Conservation Strategy: Feedback is still being sought for the South East Queensland Koala Conservation Strategy 2026-2036. This initiative aims to strengthen regulatory frameworks for habitat protection.
