Roadwork and Traffic Management Notices

Brisbane City Council has issued several traffic updates and roadwork notices active for Sunday, 15 March 2026. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays in the following areas:

  • Acacia Ridge: Maintenance works on Learoyd Road are scheduled for completion today, 15 March. Motorists should expect minor traffic control measures as crews finalize site restoration.
  • Annerley: Significant ongoing infrastructure projects continue along Ipswich Road. Multiple work zones are active between Cornwall Street and the surrounding intersections, with completion dates for various stages extending through late March and April. Reduced speed limits and lane closures remain in effect.
  • Ashgrove: Construction activities on Tay Street are currently in progress. This project, which commenced earlier this month, is expected to continue until May 2026. Local access is maintained, but through-traffic may experience delays.
  • Aspley: Road improvement works on Robinson Road West remain active. Traffic management is on-site to assist with vehicle flow during daylight hours.

Queensland Health Public Advisories

Queensland Health has released updated surveillance data and health alerts relevant to the Brisbane region for the current period:

  • Melioidosis Surveillance: Following recent wet season conditions, health officials have issued an update regarding Melioidosis, a serious bacterial infection. While the majority of the 47 cases recorded in 2026 have occurred in Northern Queensland, residents across the state are reminded to wear protective footwear and gloves when gardening or handling soil and muddy water, especially those with underlying health conditions.
  • Measles Alert: An active health alert remains in place for Brisbane International Airport. Individuals who have recently transitioned through the international terminal are encouraged to monitor for symptoms, including fever, cough, and a blotchy rash. Residents are urged to ensure their vaccinations are up to date.

Environmental and Safety Announcements

Council continues to monitor environmental conditions to ensure community safety throughout the suburb network:

  • Mosquito Management: Following the aerial treatment programs conducted earlier this week via helicopter, residents are encouraged to assist in the city-wide effort by emptying any containers of standing water on their properties to prevent breeding cycles.
  • Seasonal Weather Advisory: Although rainfall has stabilized, the Bureau of Meteorology and Council maintain an advisory for low-lying areas and creek catchments. Residents are reminded to stay clear of storm drains and avoid driving through any remaining floodwaters in areas prone to flash flooding.

For further information on any of these notices, residents may contact the Brisbane City Council 24-hour contact centre or visit the official Queensland Health newsroom for the latest medical warnings.
