Brisbane City Council is currently undertaking several minor park upgrades to improve community facilities. The following locations have active work zones and restricted access today:

  • Frew Park, Milton: Playground improvements are in their final stages, including the replacement of rubber undersurfacing and climbing wall fixtures. Access to these specific equipment sets remains restricted.
  • Perrin Park, Toowong: Work continues on the installation of a new scooter track. Residents are advised to follow all on-site signage and avoid fenced construction areas.
  • Sunset Park, Ashgrove: Construction of a new electrical compound is underway, with the work area closed to park users through late March.
  • Jamboree Lions Park, Middle Park: Recently commenced upgrades to picnic facilities and connecting pathways are active today.

Public Health and Community Support

Queensland Health maintains a high-level alert for measles following recent confirmed cases. Residents who have recently visited the Brisbane International Airport or the Sunshine Coast should monitor for symptoms such as fever, cough, and a characteristic rash. If symptoms appear, contact a healthcare provider or 13HEALTH via phone before arriving at a medical facility.

Additionally, the 2026 Back to School Boost remains available for eligible families. This state-led initiative provides financial assistance for school essentials and sports vouchers to help offset the costs of Term 1 activities.
