Major Public Service Announcement: Rail Network Shutdown

Queensland Rail and Translink have issued a critical service notice regarding a network-wide rail shutdown beginning Friday, 3 April 2026. This 23-day closure is required to facilitate major infrastructure upgrades, including the Cross River Rail project and the installation of the European Train Control System. On Friday, 3 April (Good Friday), train services on most lines—including the Airport, Gold Coast, and Beenleigh lines—will be suspended.
